Hired: Cut Your Career Search Time in Half
03-19-21 - New Podcast Episode Alert2.png

YOU’RE FIRED! YOU’RE LAID OFF! WE ARE CLOSING THE PLANT – HERE IS YOUR PINK SLIP!  These statements cast fear into our lives in the forms of a tidal wave of emotion. You start to be riddled with questions that seem to have no answers. How will I feed myself? How will I pay my bills? How will I find another job?  Why me? It is a freeway to depression and discouragement. But wait - God promises to never leave us or forsake us and in Isaiah he says,

“When you go through deep waters, I will be with you” – Isaiah 43:2

So where can I find out how to find a job in half the time it usually takes? George C. Murray has the answer in his new book Hired. George is here to tell his story and share some of the answers on what to do when you find yourself out of a job and looking for work.

George lost his job not once, but twice. These unexpected career transitions were a shock to his system and stretched his faith, but he realized some important things along the way. While praying and listening to God’s voice in the midst of his job transition, George felt led to write down a roadmap for cutting the career search time in half in his book, Hired.

George’s book is for the newly unemployed or for anyone struggling in their unemployment.  Losing a job is hard, but George says some simple, important steps need to happen right away to optimize your opportunities.  1.  You need energy, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.  2.  You are the CEO of you. 3. Assemble a personal board of advisors.

In his book, Hired, George also talks about his morning routine and tips for taking care of yourself in the midst of your job transition.  He outlines a “day in a life” structure to help you maintain a high level of performance and momentum in the midst of your unstructured time. Remember, your career transition is an opportunity to evaluate your values, purpose, and make positive personal changes.

If you know someone who is on a job search or you yourself are in that place now, get a copy of Hired: cut your career search time in half by George Claystin Murray and use this roadmap to turn your career search into a great experience!

Two copies of the book Hired are available by calling the iWork4Him listener line at 866-713-9675 or you can get it online at www.GeorgeClaystinMurray.com It’s never too late to take the next step in the process towards a new job / career.  iWork4Him is happy to present this opportunity to you and learn to focus on what is ahead for you.

Discerning The Voice Of God In Your Work
12-18-20 - New Podcast Episode Alert.png

Many times over the last 8 years we have talked about hearing from God on the steps we should take in our work or in our businesses but how does that work? Since we have an Unfair Advantage, access to the Holy Spirit of God who has access to the blueprints of heaven, how do we use that advantage to move our business in a direction that glorifies God and blesses our community? We don’t know all the answers but we have access to one business man from Austin Texas who has been pursuing the Lord in his Businesses over the last 4 decades. I have asked him to share his insights on how we discern the voice of God in our work/Business.

Tony told us a story of a patient that he tended to during his early years in medicine, during his surgical residency. The patient didn’t seem to have ordinary medical problems and God told Tony it wasn’t ordinary. He prayed about it and God eventually showed Tony and his wife the answer to the patients issues. Tony encourages us to be in the Word of God so we know His truth. Begin with the ordinary, so the extraordinary becomes more normal. Faith is spelled RISK – we get better at it the more risks we take. Tony reminded us that “His sheep hear His voice,” we are His sheep and we need to discern what He has to say.

How God Brings Us Into Wholeness So He Can Use Us More Effectively
06-11-20 Canva Podcast Image.png

It often takes a huge event to get our attention or to slow us down. Sometimes it takes a catastrophe and sometimes it just takes being alone with our thoughts with nothing else to do but to deal with them.  Sometimes God intervenes and brings healing in very intentional ways.  He wants us whole, but almost all of us have baggage that needs to be cast off and dealt with before Wholeness can happen.  Such is the life of Ben who is depicted in Os Hillman’s latest book. Os tells us his story and the story of Ben and how dealing with and forgiving the past and learning from it are all part of the process of God bringing us into wholeness so He can use us more effectively.

Understanding The Power Of God’s Word
05-15-20 Canva Podcast Image.png

Today we are talking to David Collum, President of the Pocket Testament League, and Mollie Yoder, Director of Member Relations.

The Pocket Testament League has been equipping Christ-followers to read, carry, and share the Gospel of John since 1893. Today, David and Mollie talk with us about the unique challenges that PTL faces in 2020 and beyond – among them the COVID-19 pandemic and an increasingly digital society.

The Pocket Testament League's biggest challenge – digital or analog – is getting people to understand the incredible power of God's Word. When we, as believers, invite someone to read the Gospel, it isn't our job to change their hearts or minds; it's the Holy Spirit's. God's word is living and active, and when someone reads it, they can't walk away un-impacted.

In the past, the PTL has primarily disseminated the Gospel of John through printed copies that go out to their members. These individuals then carry the Gospel with them, pray about who to give them to, and then share them.  Obviously, with COVID-19, physical handing out printed copies of the Gospel of John is no longer accessible, so the PTL tapped into its global web presence and developed the 3-2-1 Plan.

The 3-2-1 Plan allows people to continue to share the Gospel during social distancing through three simple ways: 1) an email reading plan from PTL, 2) a video series where the Word of God is read, discussed, and a question is asked, and 3) a daily texted bible verse and question.

If you are interested in Pocket Testament League’s simple 3-2-1 Plan for sharing the Gospel with your coworkers, family, friends, or neighbors, check out their website at PTL.org

An Example Of A Good Disruption
05-07-20 Canva Podcast Image.png

When Luke Andrews was first introduced to the idea of Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) he did his homework, started praying, and learning more about its purpose.  Eventually God led Luke to solely represent only BRI.  Sometimes, when God teaches us a new truth it can disrupt our work.  Luke is an example of a good disruption.
