What happens when God lays an idea on your heart and says it is impossible for you to do this unless I help. We’re talking with Tammie McClafferty from Lifework First Coast as she shares the story of The Cup of Job.

It all started when Tammie looked at the cost of taking potential Lifework financial donors out for coffee. “Could we save money by starting our own coffee shop?” she wondered. From there, the dream grew to match Lifework’s mission to transform the city through helping the down and out get jobs and job training. The Cup of Job, has been running since 2019 and is located in a homeless shelter on Jacksonville Beach. If you want to hear a crazy story of God’s incredible and miraculous faithfulness, tune in to this AMAZING story!

Caroline and her Threads

Today, wife, mother, business woman and author, Caroline Mendez, showcases her passion for discipling women in the workplace while highlighting her book, Threads of Wisdom.  Caroline has a massive heart for Jesus, and is using her skills and knowledge to help women across the Nation with their faith walks.

Early in her faith, Caroline noticed a gap; every women’s bible study that she attended helped her to become a better wife and mother but none of them spoke to who she was as a professional. That’s when God gave Caroline a vision disciple and connect women of faith in the workplace. Threads of Wisdom is a compellation of 10 Godly working women’s stories, and is an absolute must read.

Work on Purpose

We were on the road LIVE from the great city of Cincinnati, Ohio to talk with Chuck Proudfit about his ministry – At Work on Purpose – and learn how God’s moving in Cinci. Chuck spent most of his career in a corporate setting until he read Rick Warren’s “A Purpose Driven Life” back in 2003 and thought, “where is the Purpose Driven Work?” The reality is that we spend most of our lives at our jobs…  so how can we bring our faith into that space?

When Chuck started At Work on Purpose it was simply a dozen people meeting bi-weekly to support one another in living out their faith. But soon it grew from a dozen people, to hundreds, to thousands, to a full-blown spiritual network of influence across the greater Cincinnati area. How? By addressing the five overarching spiritual struggles of believers in the workplace: Sacred vs Secular; Calling vs Career; Righteousness vs Compromise; Growth vs Stagnation; and Stewardship vs Ownership. At Work on Purpose addresses these five struggles with practical, biblical solutions so that we can grow the Church through work.

Remember, no matter what our position is, our real employer is the Lord and our real assignment is ministry. Check out this podcast to hear how YOU can work on purpose.

Killing Wonder Woman

Ever get that “Wonder Woman” feeling? Like, Wonder Woman can do ANYTHING, right? She’s got a cool shield, those sweet gold bracelets, the gold rope, but can Wonder Woman really stand up to the pressure in real life? Today we talk with author TJ Tison, as she breaks down her incredible new book, “Killing Wonder Woman.”

Women fill many roles both at work and at home, often wearing themselves out to the point of exhaustion by trying to do and be all things to all people all at once. TJ Tison’s new book, “Killing Wonder Woman,” is about setting weary women free to soar in their faith and work.

TJ believes that women can have everything but not all in the same hour, the same week, or even the same season of life. Instead, God’s calling on your life will change as your seasons do. In one era, you may be called to focus on being a wife and mother, and in another, the door may open for you to write a book or start a business. God is unfolding your story, and it will happen in the right time – HIS time. Remember, if you can say no to the good, you can say yes to God’s best.

If you want to be fed and encouraged by women who have similar experiences and have gone through woman-specific minefields in the workplace – check out Working Women of Faith.

Following Your Calling

On a very special 500th edition of the program, Jim invites contest winner and young artist Paige Murrell, whose white board story sketch on one’s calling won an award at the Institute of Faith, Work and Economics, to talk about her artistic passion, what drives her heart and mind, and her inspirational thoughts on the idea of a calling.

The student contest put on by The Faith, Work, and Economics required participants to create a presentation on fulfillment for a chance to win a scholarship. Paige’s piece discussed the complexity of the questions “what is a calling?” and “what is fulfillment?” and how are these related to God’s word.

Tune in to hear more about Paige’s journey as an artist and to be inspired to use your own creative impulses to honor the Lord!
