Discipleship For Christian Small Business Owners
10-19-20 - New Podcast Episode Alert.png

When you are out in the Marketplace, you may notice something, a change. When I first entered the marketplace, Christians didn’t make themselves known. With one exception. In MPLS where I grew up, there was a trend for people to use Christianity as an inroad to close business deals. However, most of the people who did that were people you wouldn’t want to do business with. 34 years later, that is changing on a large scale.  People don’t claim to be Christians unless they really are. And the real Christians in the marketplace rarely use Jesus to sell something, it is Jesus in them that attracts people to buy from the Christian business person.  That is a remarkable change. How did it happen, it started with guys like Howard Oakes from Garden Grove, California. He saw a need for discipleship for Christian Small business owners. Instead of asking his church pastor to do it, he started Christian Network Groups. Lets hear the story from Howard Himself.

Entrepreneurship For The Kingdom

Shae Bynes with “Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur” joined the Brangenberg’s today to share her mission of inspiring, teaching, and mentoring entrepreneurs who desire to place God at the head of their businesses in an effort to experience His best!

In 2010, God called Shae out of a corporate career in tech and led her into the world of entrepreneurship. Over the course of a couple of years, God taught Shae to slow down and change her mindset from constant hustle to a healthy flow of partnering with Him in her work. It was in that place that God revealed His divine plan to start Kingdom Driven Entrepreneur – a community of people who want to make a Kingdom impact with their businesses!

Shae Bynes is a Contributor to Chapter 19 of the sheWorks4Him Field Manual.

Skip Stanton Works4Him

We dove deep today into the faith walk of the owner of Aqua Plumbing and Air and heard how Skip’s journey with Christ has “changed his paradigm”.  We also got a look at how he came to be within his profession, what makes him a great boss (with a special guest chiming in) and his work with C12.  It was a powerful hour of discovery and witness.

Skip Stanton grew up in a Methodist home, but came into a personal relationship with Christ in his mid-twenties through a co-worker who shared the gospel with him at Sears. Skip took a page from that co-worker, bringing his faith into his company through biblical business practices.

Taking Your Faith Public

Today we talk with Todd Hopkins, CEO of Office Pride and author of “Five Wisdoms for Entrepreneur Survival”, about taking his faith public and stressing less as a business owner.

Too many entrepreneurs start a business and then give up before it has a chance to succeed. Todd wanted to write a book about how to persevere as a new small business owner and honor God in the process! The key? Ultimately, God owns the business, and we just need to be the stewards of it.

Tune in to this fantastic show and be encouraged to share your faith, to pray for favor and wisdom, and pursue God’s plan for your business!
