Os Hillman is a Marketplace Leader

We had the honor of having our good friend, Os Hillman, back on-air with us for a lengthy chat on Life and Faith – and how to put God first in both. Os went through a season of crisis that pivoted his view of God's purpose for him as a writer and speaker. Out of this season came his first book, "The Upside of Adversity," and the start of his FREE daily devotional, "Today God is First" or "TGIF."

In this show, Os talks with us about how God often uses adversity as a catalyst to usher us into the larger story of our life. Every great leader making a Kingdom impact has had a moment in their life that forced them to get out of the way so that God could be at the forefront. Adversity moves us from who we are to someone who can be used more effectively for God's purpose.

Os also gave us a primer on the 2019 "Culture Shapers Summit," where 350 leaders and business owners came together to connect, collaborate, pray, and mobilize. Here, they discussed how the simplest way to influence the seven mountains of culture is through everyday workers, business, and employees. Os says that most people sell themselves short – they don't think of their positions' spiritual nature. But if you solve a problem in someone's life or in the community, you gain influence as a byproduct. If we, as the body of Christ, can start strategically thinking about how to serve well and solve everyday problems, we will gain influence that can be turned towards the Gospel.

Os Hillman is a Contributor to Chapter 9 of The iWork4Him Field Manual.
