Membership is always open City Economic Development Committee is being formed. If you are interested in getting involved – Contact City Hall (417) 258-2466 Position is open at City Hall for City Clerk. Contact the City for those details as well. School: The school calendar for 24-25 details are on the website https://www.marionville.us first day of school is 8/21 • Marionville Baseball head coach Nicklaus Hooper update with the baseball and softball programs. • High school football team held camp for 3-6th graders. Thanks to Coach Grubbs and his guys did an awesome job. First Responder: We are always thankful for the GOOD work our first responders do. Remember to abide by laws in traffic, near accident sites and when emergency vehicles are present. Also, remember we are now a hands-free phone state. El Maya got an internal refresh, Caseys finally got soda syrup, Murphy's Orchard is knocking it out of the park. Get some peaches and bread! Random News: • We recently learned about Missouri Good neighbor week which was signed into law in 2022 https://missourigoodneighborweek.com/ Sept 28 – Oct 4th • Missouri Good Neighbor Week encourages citizens of Missouri to “participate in events and activities to establish connections with their neighbors”. In 2023 our goal was to document 15,000 acts of neighboring….we documented 19,778! In addition there were 74 service events reported, thousands of visitors to the website, and 60 people were nominated as engaged neighbors. This sounds like something Marionville could wrap it’s arms around!!!! – happening right after Applefest. (thanks Valerie Robbins) • Charles & Shirley Pieter – longtime residents of Marionville have some big time celebrating happening. Charles recently turned 90 years old and together they are celebrating xxx wedding anniversary. What great Godly examples they are for our community. • Other GOOD news – Casey's got their syrup for the soda machines!!! o Also, thank you Gregg Stoddard for the Bible verse he shared – Yes John 3:16 is GOOD news!
