The sheWorks4Him Book: Embrace Your Calling as a Christian Woman at Work

About a year and a half ago, we set off on a journey to write a collaborative resource for Christian women in the workplace. Over the last eight years of being on-air interviewing workplace believers – we heard so many stories coming from women of faith who love to work outside the home and be a part of the marketplace but felt second-place in the Kingdom. This should never be! So, that kicked off a year and a half long journey of Martha and me to create a collaborative resource that would encourage every Christian working woman.

sheWorks4Him was written to celebrate, validate, encourage, and equip women in the workplace to vibrantly live out their faith in every area of life! In addition to myself, we invited 19 other women of faith to contribute their own inspiring stories of activating their workplace mission field. The audiobook version of sheWorks4Him is especially exciting – as each chapter is read by its contributing author!

As our Gift to you, we are releasing the audio from the Introduction and first chapter on our podcast so you can get a feel for the content inside sheWorks4Him: Embrace your calling as a Christian woman at work. To listen to the rest of the audiobook CLICK HERE or go to Amazon.com. To get a hard copy of sheWorks4Him or our other two books, iWork4Him and iRetire4Him, go to iWork4Him.com/bookstore.

Bonus Interview With sheWorks4Him Author Ellie Nieves

When Ellie was an attorney on her way up the corporate ladder, she thought that God would only get in the way of her aspirations. But as her career grew, she found that all her achievements were empty; she was missing a greater purpose or meaning – the kind that only God can fill. When we believe that our job or title or perceived success is our purpose, we are short-changing ourselves – because God has more in store for us. Moreover, our jobs are only one aspect of our lives that God wants to use to make an eternal impact. In this bonus interview, Ellie talks with us about what it looks like to glorify the Lord in the context of a Fortune 250 company, battling anxiety and fear in the face of the unexpected, and the two most important things to successfully living out your faith at work.

Ellie Nieves is a contributing author to Chapter 8 of our new book, sheWorks4Him: Embrace Your Calling as a Christian Woman at Work.

Bonus Interview With sW4H and iR4H Author Danita Bye

Danita Bye burned her corporate navy-blue power suit. Yes, literally burned it. Why? Because she realized that it had become a symbol of the pressure she felt to be a modern-day “Wonder Woman,” a title that was impossible to live up to and left her feeling like a failure. In this bonus interview, she talks about letting go of perfection in exchange for grace, finding your identity, and generational reconciliation.

Danita Bye is a contributing author to Chapter 4 of sheWorks4Him: Embrace Your Calling as a Christian Woman at Work and Chapter 14 of iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement.

Dreaming With The Masters Program For Women

Some women are constantly dreaming big dreams and others are so busy helping others dream that they forget that God has placed dreams inside of them too. Nadya Dickson, the International Director of the Masters Program for Women, joins us today to talk about taking the time to dream big. Just recently, Nadya hosted a retreat for her members entitled “Wake up, Wake up, Deborah from Judges 4 & 5” a retreat that centered on waking up, rising up, gathering up, and dreaming up.

Plus, we hear from retreat attendees Kim Levings with ReThink You and Sharon Lee from Carolina NonProfit Solutions about how Jesus has disrupted their lives (and businesses) for their good and His glory through this retreat and their time in The Masters Program for Women. If you’ve ever had a dream that got sidelined… you won’t want to miss this show! Oh, and if you’re a Christian woman looking for inspiration and challenge – be sure to check out The Masters Program for Women.

Dee Barnes - God's Transformational Impact In Her Life And Work. His Wonderful Works, Inc.
09-02-21 - New Podcast Episode Alert2.png

The Manufacturing world is a little rough and tumble. The floors aren’t always clean and the conversations may be a little rough too. But what do we know about the manufacturing workforce in America?  They are diehard loyal Americans who work hard and sweat hard to make parts, pieces and equipment made right here in the USA.  So where does Jesus fit in to the manufacturing world?  Dee Barnes is here to tell her story of being the CEO of Evans Tool and Die in Conyers GA and how Jesus changed her life and impacts her manufacturing company every day. Dee is also going to tell us about a very special event she is hosting related to her life before Jesus.

Dee Barnes always dreamed of running her family company, Evans Tool & Die and went to school to prepare herself to do just that.  Dee dealt with sexual sin – heterosexual and homosexual and one day a friend showed her Romans 1 and it convicted her.  God is using her testimony of transformation in amazing ways.  She is the first to tell you that God has blessed her through her healing and given her a husband and family as a blessing.  Now years later she is back running the family business as CEO while at the same time leading His Wonderful Works

Dee’s love for the Lord comes through by her bold approach to running the company.  She regularly offers prayer to her employees and ends meetings with prayer, asking God to solve their supply chain issues or anything else they may be dealing with.  Dee is a great example of just being bold and trusting the Lord for answers.

His Wonderful Works is hosting their event in Atlanta September 11, 2021 and is full of testimonies of believers walking in healing from a variety of sexual sins.  https://hiswonderfulworks.com/amazing-love-event/

They are offering:  For His Wonderful Works – The Amazing Love Event – Free admission for 4 to the Amazing Love Event on Sept 11th.  Call the listener line at:  866-713-9675 to win.

Featured Guests: Dee Barnes

sheWorks4Him With Ellie Nieves | How Christian Career Women Rise
08-13-21 - New Podcast Episode Alert2.png

It’s another exciting day here at iWork4Him as we welcome back the hosts of the new sheWorks4Him Podcast Martha Brangenberg, Catherine Gates, and Nadya Dickson.  The sheWorks4Him podcast will officially launch on Labor Day, but today we get to hear one of the first interviews with Catherine Gates, Martha Brangenberg and show guest Ellie Nieves. Ellie has been a past guest on iWork4Him and her background and testimony is inspiring.

sheWorks4Him podcast is dedicated to empowering Christian working women to live out their calling at work so that the world knows sheWorks4Him.  Learn more about this show at www.sheWorks4Him.com with new content every week beginning August 16, 2021. Welcome to sheWorks4Him.

Ellie Nieves had many life goals, one of which was to be an elected official.  Through her work she was introduced to a Christ-follower that shared her faith, invited her to church and bible study.  This interested Ellie but she just didn’t have time to fit all this Christian stuff into her lifestyle.  A couple years later, Ellie revisited with this friend and was ready to commit her life to Jesus.

As an attorney, Ellie incorporates her faith in many different ways.  She knows that prayer throughout her day is vital.  She also finds subtle ways through a pillow on her office chair with a prayer message to inviting co-workers to attend a bible study.  In addition to her day job Ellie has her “passion project”.  She gets up early each morning to spend several hours writing, podcasting, and building community for women to help them in their careers.  When the end of her work day rolls around, Ellie knows the power of turning off the gadgets and focusing on family.

When asked about some key elements that keep her grounded, she acknowledges the importance of the Word and prayer.  Ellie is currently reading A Gentle & Quiet Spirit by Virginia Lefler.  Some might be surprised that a powerful attorney would be reading to learn about her role as a wife.  Ellie knows the importance of honoring her God given roles and never stops learning.  Check out Ellie’s special give away: How Christian Career Women Rise, christiancareerwomen.com/rise also on Instagram and Facebook.

sheWorks4Him With Jené Dunn | On The Frontlines Of Covid Care

It’s another exciting day here at iWork4Him as we welcome back 2 of the hosts from the brand new sheWorks4Him Podcast Martha Brangenberg and Nadya Dickson.  The sheWorks4Him Podcast will officially launch on Labor Day, but today we get to hear one of the first interviews with Nadya Dickson, Martha Brangenberg and show guest Jene’ Dunn.

sheWorks4Him podcast is dedicated to empowering Christian working women to live out their calling at work so that the world knows sheWorks4Him.  Learn more about this show at www.sheWorks4Him.com with new content every week beginning August 16, 2021. Welcome to sheWorks4Him.

Essential workers have faced insurmountable stress during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Dealing with death, uncertainty, long hours, and the unknown caused 2020 to be known as the Year of the Nurse for good reason. Our guest Jene Dunn from Castle Rock, Colorado gives us an inside look at what it’s like to lead during uncertainty.

Jene was raised in a Christian home where she met Jesus at a very early age of three.  With a family of pastors and missionaries, Jene knew that God was leading her into the ministry of nursing to serve in health care.  She is leading several departments of a faith-based hospital as a Clinical Nurse Manager where she lives by her personal mission statement:  “To allow the light of Christ to shine through me as I care for frontline associates who then care for our patients.”  At work and in her home life, Jene has experienced God’s hand even during the pandemic.  Her leadership has grown through a recent revelation that shedding tears in front of staff members is not only okay but validates her authenticity as she leads.  This revelation was recently tested during the death of a colleague from suicide.

When asked about the difference between her family members serving in a church and Jene serving in the hospital she said they validate the fact that she is in ministry.  A key to her solid foundation is study the Bible.  Jene makes it a point to get in the Word daily and looks to find her wisdom for leadership from God.  Jene’s husband Sean has been a guest on iWork4Him previously and is a graduate of The Master’s Program.  He recently encouraged Jene’ to participate in the Master’s Program for Women, a faith based professional leadership development program for high-impact Christian women.  You can find out more at:  www.mastersprogramforwomen.org .

Jene encouraged our listeners to write their own personal mission statement and asked you to submit them to her at dunnjene@gmail.com.

We promised we would share the link so Jene and others could hear the past interviews with Sean Dunn about www.JesusCares.org
