An Intro to the Barnabas Group

It was Day 3 of our expansion in Jacksonville (!!!) and today we brought in Becky Turner to talk about the Barnabas Group, which is focused on matching our God-given natural gifts, talents, and abilities – the ones we use all day long – with a local, Christ-centered non-profit in YOUR area of the country.

Becky is the National Managing Partner for the Barnabas Group – a place that matches up the skills, gifts, and talents of individuals and marketplace leaders with ministries and non-profits that need help. In other words, “they set the table and invite people in.” If you are interested in engaging your talents for the Kingdom – you won’t want to miss this one!

Skip Stanton Works4Him

We dove deep today into the faith walk of the owner of Aqua Plumbing and Air and heard how Skip’s journey with Christ has “changed his paradigm”.  We also got a look at how he came to be within his profession, what makes him a great boss (with a special guest chiming in) and his work with C12.  It was a powerful hour of discovery and witness.

Skip Stanton grew up in a Methodist home, but came into a personal relationship with Christ in his mid-twenties through a co-worker who shared the gospel with him at Sears. Skip took a page from that co-worker, bringing his faith into his company through biblical business practices.

A Practical Guide To Bringing Your Faith to Work

Have you ever wondered, "how does God look at my work?" or "How does the Gospel transform how I look at work?" Well, David Kim with the Center for Faith and Work joined us for an in-depth discussion on how we can effectively manifest the iWork4Him mission in our workplaces.

Have you ever wondered, "how does God look at my work?" or "how does the Gospel transform how I look at work?" Well, today, we want to introduce you to a brand-new resource you need to go and get immediately: The Faith and Work Bible. Today we talk with David Kim - the General Editor for the Faith and Work Bible Project and the Executive Director for the Center for Faith and Work in New York City - for an in-depth discussion on how we can effectively manifest the iWork4Him mission in our workplaces.

David dives deep with us into what the Bible says about our work, why it's essential, and how we can use that as an inspiration to bring light to our cubicles and coworkers. When we believe that Jesus is the Lord of the world, not just of our personal lives, we begin to realize that He cares about our work as much as every other area of our lives. All workmen, all callings, are sacred to God.

The Faith at Work Bible addresses three areas of transformation: to transform your motivation for work, transform your interactions with people at work, and transform the work itself.

Year End Performance Reviews

Proverbs 27:23 says, “Be sure you know the condition of your flocks, give careful attention to your herds…” So today, I want to ask, do you, as a manager, CEO, business owner, or supervisor, know the state of your employees – both personally and professionally? Do you know where they are coming from? Do you know where they are at? If not, today is your chance to start - and Martha and I want to show you how!

If you do regular employee performance reviews (we’re talking quarterly, not just annually!), you will have more opportunities to share the Gospel with your people because of how you are regularly investing in them. Employee performance evaluations are an opportunity to sit down without interruptions, show that you care, and improve company culture!

Employee reviews allow you to sit down and have an open, purposeful, and transparent conversation. And, by doing regular performance reviews, you are able to: 1) Shows that you care, notice, and acknowledge their work 2) Set goals, so they have somewhere to go in the future 3) Create an opportunity for an open dialogue 4) Provide productive feedback and investment 5) Allow the employee an opportunity to do a self-evaluation.

Download the iWork4Him Performance Review Template and set up a performance evaluation with your employees today!
