Words on the Millennial Generation

Author, Grant Skeldon, hopped on the airwaves with Jim and Martha today to share his new book, “The Passion Generation”.  This millennial author went in depth on his latest work and shared his thoughts on what his generation REALLY wants.  His musings may surprise you…

Grant is passionate about not just reaching the next generations but also uniting them. When he was 19-years-old he was asked to serve on the board for a non-profit. While serving, he noticed that there were very few other millennials involved in similar leadership positions… why? His answer: it isn’t a millennial problem, it’s a discipleship problem. We need to stop trying to understand millennials and start engaging with them.

Feedback Vs Feed-Forward

Great stuff from author, Danita Bye, who joined us to talk about her latest book – Millennials Matter – which breaks down how that generation operates, and how we can best operate with that generation.

A recent study said that 72% of Millennials want regular feedback… but Danita believes that what most Millennials actually want is feed-forward. In other words, they aren’t interested in critiquing how they did in the past, but in getting input on how they can move into action effectively in the future. This revolutionary way of providing performance reviews for employees is something that we think any generation can benefit from!

Remember, part of being a good steward of your business is discipling and building up the next generation leaders and workers.
