The iRetire4Him Book: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement

About a year and a half ago, we set off on a journey to write a book that would encourage retirees, and those on their way to retirement, to intentionally engage in God’s purpose for their lives. Because the truth is that retirement is not the end of your Kingdom calling – it’s just the beginning. Retirement opens new opportunities to invest in the people around you and mentor the next generation through the accumulated wisdom and experience you’ve gained throughout your life. We created iRetire4Him – in collaboration with eight other contributing authors and ministries – to help you get off the sidelines and back in the game!

Since our roots are in radio and podcasting, we are especially excited about this audiobook version of iRetire4Him! Each chapter is read by its contributing author – so you get the chance not only to hear new perspectives but also the new voices that go along with them. As our Gift to you, we are releasing the audio from the Introduction and first chapter on our podcast so you can get a feel for the content inside our new collaborative resource, iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement. To listen to the rest of the audiobook CLICK HERE or go to Amazon.com. To get a hard copy of iRetire4Him or our other two books, iWork4Him and sheWorks4Him, go to iWork4Him.com/bookstore.

Bonus Interview With iRetire4Him Author Jeff Brown

Everybody feels alone sometimes, especially when unexpected circumstances arise. Chaplains are a way for your company or organization to show its employees that they are not alone by building caring relationships over time! Chaplains provide one-on-one, grassroots ministry to employees that may never have set foot in a church before. Whether it is support through a crisis like suicide, family loss, illness, or financial distress, or a celebration like a new marriage, baby, or promotion. Whatever the life situation, chaplains are able to offer the power of presence – God’s presence!

Jeff Brown is a contributing author to Chapter 12 of our new book, iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement.

Bonus Interview With iRetire4Him Author Bob Spence

Retirement isn’t in the Bible. True story! We were never meant to work for 30 years and then go on a 30-year vacation. Instead, God’s intention is that we would have a purpose throughout our entire life. In other words, retirement isn’t VACATION; it’s a JOB CHANGE. In this bonus interview with our personal mentor, Bob Spence, we talk about intentional retirement, ministering in the second half of life, and cultivating a mission, vision, purpose, and core values.

Bob Spence is a contributing author to Chapter 15 of our new book, iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement.

Bonus Interview With iRetire4Him Author Doug Fagerstrom

If you don’t go into the workplace and share Jesus, who will? This is the question that God asked Doug Fagerstrom many years ago, and it’s the same question God is asking each of us today! But in this special bonus interview, Doug talks about how his life as a new retiree still centers on the same question – just a different location. Whether it’s in the workplace, the home, the community, or the golf course, we each have the opportunity to bring the person, words, and work of Jesus to those around us. Tune in to hear our discussion with Doug about purpose in retirement, faith in the marketplace and beyond, and becoming a chaplain in the second season of life.

Bonus Interview With sW4H and iR4H Author Danita Bye

Danita Bye burned her corporate navy-blue power suit. Yes, literally burned it. Why? Because she realized that it had become a symbol of the pressure she felt to be a modern-day “Wonder Woman,” a title that was impossible to live up to and left her feeling like a failure. In this bonus interview, she talks about letting go of perfection in exchange for grace, finding your identity, and generational reconciliation.

Danita Bye is a contributing author to Chapter 4 of sheWorks4Him: Embrace Your Calling as a Christian Woman at Work and Chapter 14 of iRetire4Him: Unlock God’s Purpose for Your Retirement.

How To Activate Millions of Christ Followers Who Go To Work Every Day & Are Retired – An iWork4Him Group Discussion
12-23-20 - Podcast Image 180 x 180.png

There are over 150 million people in the workforce today, 36% of them identifying themselves as born again believers which means there are 55 million believers at work. If research is accurate 3.3 million believers now connect their faith and their work. That leaves almost 52 Million believers who have yet to be activated in all areas of their faith life. 52 million Jesus followers who think like I did that in order to be in ministry they need to quit their job and work for a church or a Christian nonprofit ministry. How can we activate these fully funded missionaries? How can we take advantage of the church being extricated from its buildings because of Coronavirus? How can we, the church, bring healing to our broken land? Tonight we will tell you a bit of our story, a bit of the lay of the land in the faith and work movement and finally some practical tactical, factual and biblical perspectives on how to activate the 55 million Christ Followers who go to work every day and the 30 million of them who are retired. There might be some things we say tonight that offend your traditions and challenge your thinking but know this, our hearts are bound in Jesus. Forgive our boldness if it helps mobilize a nation of workplace believers to recognize the call on their lives so they can say iWork4Him.

Checking Under The Hood
Luke Andrews Podcast Image.png

You wouldn’t buy a used lawn mower without making sure it works, you wouldn’t buy a home without a home inspection and you wouldn’t buy a used car without checking under the hood so why is it we invest in our 401k or 403b or an IRA without checking to see what it is invested in?  I have no idea but I do know that this can be a dangerous and slippery slope – it’s like eating sausage without knowing what was put in it, as long as it’s all ground up, it looks good but who knows what’s really in it. Could it kill you? Probably not if its cooked but it could make you sick. The same with your 401k or 403 b – what its invested in probably won’t kill you but it could make you sick. Talking with us today to clear up any confusion is Luke Andrews with iInvest4Him.com and Inspire Advisors. How we do our work is a direct reflection of our relationship with our Heavenly Father. How we invest HIS money should be that way as well.
