Ep 2023: Making God Your CEO

You’re in for a real treat with this first episode of 2024! Peter Lawry shares his journey of integrating faith and work, rejecting the conventional separation of Sunday and Monday. From nursing to accounting, Peter landed in the consulting business. It was here that he was challenged by a friend to make God the CEO of his business. And that changed everything.

This year iWork4Him is moving its focus from “iWork for Him” to “iWork with Him,” and Peter really nails the importance of this with biblical examples that reveal God’s supernatural intervention when we allow Him to truly be a part of our lives. It’s not just passive but actively waiting on the Lord’s leading in every situation, even (especially) in business.

Want to fill your work life with peace and power? Consider getting a copy of Peter’s book When Jesus Calls: Transforming Businesses into Expressions of God’s Kingdom. Like this conversation, it’s a profound exploration of the purpose of business as a divine design to bring people together, fostering resources for the Kingdom. Other ways this episode encourages us to work WITH God?

Ep 2022: iWork WITH Him

The last episode of 2023! Hosts Jim and Martha reflect on the past year and set their sights on the theme for 2024: transitioning from "iWork4Him" to "I Work WITH Him." Celebrating the completion of the Central Place building project, a 140-year-old rehabbed structure, they highlight its positive impact on their community. They also share some significant moments, like memorable nights on the front deck and the passing of Martha's father, Ted Hains.

Looking ahead, the Brangenbergs express hopes for vacation, family time, and deepening involvement in ministry, including the Tapestry Project. One big change they’ve made in 2023 and will continue making in 2024 is switching over to businesses that support Christian values – like SaferNet and Patriot Mobile!

Wrapping up, listeners are invited to get involved in local faith and work ministries and shift their thinking to actively working with God in their daily tasks. Check out some 2024 events that Jim and Martha are involved with on the events page. Reach out and connect – we want to hear from you.

Happy New Year to our iWork4Him audience!
